THE The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) , through its School of Architecture , is the host institution of the UNESCO Chair "Heritage and Cultural Landscape". Co-Host Institution

The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) , through its Institute of Geosciences and Department of Geography , acts as co-host of the Chair, strengthening the geographical and environmental axis of the landscape approach. UFRJ is one of the most traditional and influential Brazilian universities and contributes significantly to the integration between heritage, territory, and society.

The Chair brings together a team of professors and researchers affiliated with institutions in Brazil and abroad, in the areas of:

• Law, Psychology and Social Sciences
• Ecology, Climatology and Environmental Sciences
• Communication, Digital Inclusion and Tourism

This team is responsible for award-winning projects and strategic actions such as the Serro Cultural Landscape Revitalization Plan (in partnership with IPHAN/UNESCO) and various research projects funded by CNPq, FAPEMIG, and FAPERJ.
