Funding Obtained

The sustainability of the UNESCO Chair's "Heritage and Cultural Landscape" activities is ensured through a strategic articulation between public funding, institutional partnerships , and the construction of a national and international cooperation network. These resources enable research, events, publications, training, and outreach activities with local, regional, and global reach.

The Chair has the support of various funding agencies and partner institutions:

  • CNPq – National Council for Scientific and Technological Development

  • FAPEMIG – Foundation for Research Support of the State of Minas Gerais

  • FAPERJ – Carlos Chagas Filho Foundation for Research Support of the State of Rio de Janeiro

  • CAPES – Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel

  • IPHAN – National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage

  • UNESCO Brazil – Institutional and technical support for integrated projects

These funding sources support everything from research grants to scientific events, field projects, technology development, and publications.

In addition to the host institutions (UFMG and UFRJ), the Chair has the support of several partner universities and research centers in Brazil and abroad, including:
